The official Mega Millions lottery website has issued a press release about one of the most recent smaller scale prize winners:
“There were three tickets that matched the five white balls, just missing the Mega Ball for the jackpot. Tickets sold in Georgia and Michigan won $1 million each, while a ticket sold in Pennsylvania included the optional Megaplier, boosting its value to $2 million after the 2X Megaplier was drawn.
“It’s the 13th time this year that a Match 5 winning ticket has included the extra $1 Megaplier purchase, which multiplies the value of all non-jackpot prizes.
“The jackpot has been rolling since it was last won in New York on September 11.”
