Zack Brown, Kenny Chesney, and Kacey Musgraves Perform at the Southern Ground Music and Food Festival

Zack Brown's Southern Ground Music and Food Festival rolls into Nashville this weekend. The foodie, who recently came under fire for his expressing his distaste for modern country music, is offering up a hardy helping of music and food to feed the soul. Kenny Chesney and Kacey Musgraves are just a few of the artists who will be kicking off the celebration.

The festival's musical menu features a large selection of artists like: Kacey Musgraves, Kenny Chesney, John Fogerty, Clare Bowen, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Dawe, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, and many more, alongside special guest Jason Mraz.

Unfortunately, beloved country music legend Willie Nelson had to drop out of the festival due to a shoulder injury. According to his publicist, Nelson is currently under doctors' orders to forego touring for the next two weeks. This has lead the 80-year-old singer to cancel a string of shows.

Zack Brown boasted about the lineup in a recent interview with Nashville Scene:

"These are all people that I'm a really big fan of and people that I think our fans would enjoy. If you really sit out there and just come open-minded as a music fan and a food fan, you're going to get your mind blown by all of it — that's the goal."

He went on to speak about why he decided to move his festival to Nashville:

"We're working on building our culture in Nashville. The festival is a tip of our hats to the community there to let them know that Southern Ground is making a presence here and that we're bringing a strong identity along with the things that the great parts of the city stand for. ...We don't just want to do Nashville justice. Anything we do at Southern Ground, we want it to be excellent. That's why we want it there."

The festival opens today in Nashville' s Riverfront Park and will last till Saturday, 28.
