Is 'Batman: Arkham Knight' PC Re-release a Disappointment to Fans?

In June, Rocksteady released Batman: Arkham Knight to the initial delight but then sudden dismay of many fans. Right after the original release, Warner Brothers pulled the PC version of Arkham Knight from shelves due to "Performance Issues."  Now, four months later, the re-release is finally available alongside several new updates for all game platforms, downloadable content and Steam Incentives. But some fans express disappointment.

Of special note, despite the inconvenience to PC Gamers, Warner Brothers is not in any way discounting their "Relaunch Package." To quote Hayden Dingman of PC World, "$90, it's not discounted from just buying the game ($50) and season pass separately." For those who haven't been following this, a Season Pass goes for $40 per month and gives you access to all downloadable content, not just content for Batman: Arkham Knight. As for the performance issues, the game runs much more smoothly, but "jumping in the Batmobile still put a damper on performance, with it dropping as low as 45-50 frames per second at times"

That said, it isn't all sour grapes. With the re-release of the PC version of Batman:Arkham Knight comes some exciting new downloadable content. Not the least of which is new playable characters available during Combat Challenges.  You can now choose to play as Nightwing, Robin, Catwoman, Arkham Knight, Red Hood, Harley Quinn and Classic Batman. Soon, these playable characters will also be available in Predator Challenges!

There is also a new story campaign for Catwoman, "Catwomans' Revenge" that continues her part in The Riddler missions following her escape from the supervillain's clutches. Last but not least, retro costumes for both Robin and Catwoman, as well as racetracks, are available to match the recently released Batmobile skin modeled after the Classic 1966 Batman TV series.

In addition to all of these goodies, Steam reports, "we are pleased to announce three community focused programs to help us commemorate the re-launch of the game." Between now and November 16th, the following will be available on Steam for free to owners of Batman: Arkham Knight:  all other games in the Batman Arkham library,  new "Community Challenge Pack" and Batman: Arkham Knight vanity items for Team Fortress 2 created during a creation contest.
