WATCH: 'Star Wars 7': Luke Skywalker and No More 'Force Awakens' Trailers Coming

J.J. Abrams has given us an update on how much Star Wars The Force Awakens footage we can expect to see in the lead up to the films release, and comments on the fan theories about Luke Skywalker.

We are now in the final stretch of days leading up to the release of Star Wars The Force Awakens and the news over load is starting to take hold. J.J. has finished the film, and fans are eager to find out exactly what happens. Last week we finally got the release of the final trailer for the film, and J.J. Abrams has given up a little bit of news regarding what footage we can still hope to see before the film releases on December 17.

There is a little habit that studios have of releasing last minute footage of films right before release, but it appears that Star Wars and Disney will not be taking that road. Abrams told Extra via Darkhorizons, "The next thing is really going to be the movie. Well, there'll be commercials, but no more trailers."

Although this might bum fans out a bit, this is actually great news. So many movies kill a film before its release by showing too much footage. I am glad to see Star Wars not follow suit. Truthfully, do they really have to? There WILL be long lines at theaters for this movie, and it WILL do really well.

Abrams was also asked about a few theories that have been circulating, relating to Luke Skywalker's role in the film. He wouldn't go into any details about Luke's role, but did say that he was a big fan of the rumors that have been swirling around. He told Extra, "I saw that, too [the theory of Luke going to the Dark Side]. I'm always interested in seeing people's theories. What'll be cool [is] when people finally see the movie and see what it really is. Hopefully some people will say, 'I was right!' Other people will be like, 'Ah-rah!' You want people to be debating things even before the movie comes out. It's a dream!"

If there is one thing to love about J.J. Abrams, it is the way that through it all, he remains a true Star Wars fan at heart. His excitement and enthusiasm is admirable.

In other related The Force Awakens News there is a rumor that has gone up at MakingStarWars that says that we will see a dead character returning for this film. Yoda's name has been mentioned. Will we see him as a Force Ghost or in true form is something that remains to be seen, but if Yoda makes an appearance, there will be more reason for fans to rejoice.
