It looks like their careers might have been just too much for Robert Pattinson and FKA Twigs relationship. According to the latest gossip news updates, the famous couple have called off their wedding, since deciding to split via telephone. Word has it that as Twigs began to distance herself both physically and emotionally as the weeks went by, Pattinson began to question their engagement altogether. Meanwhile, Kristen Stewart seems to be doing fine. Despite reports the Bella recently broke up with her live-in girlfriend, Alicia Cargile, Stewart's career is still going strong -- with the 25-year-old recently getting cast in the new Lizzie Bordon horror movie.
The tabloids have been doing their best to break FKA Twigs and Robert Pattinson up since the couple got engaged, and now it seems they might have finally gotten their wish.
One source in the latest November 9, issue of Life & Style claims that Rob and Twigs were barely making their engagement work when things not-so-suddenly came off the rails:
"Things had been tense for months and it all blew up in one phone call.
"FKA called Rob on his first day of filming [The Lost City of Z in Columbia] to tell him that she couldn't visit because of her busy schedule."
According to the inside informant, when Rob made the mistake of pushing FKA to come down anyways, the situation quickly dissolved into an informal split:
"She yelled at him to stop complaining and hung up on him...They called off the wedding."
The family friend that E! News spoke to a couple of weeks ago, however, insisted that Robert and Twigs are still very much together and happily engaged, despite their hectic work schedules:
"They haven't drifted apart [despite claims], but they haven't spoken as much lately because of his filming schedule."
Although she is said to no longer have a relationship to worry about, Kristen Stewart has definitely been keeping herself just as busy as her ex-boyfriend.
While K Stew is currently shooting Personal Shopper in Paris, Vanity Fair reports she has already signed on to star alongside Chloë Sevigny in a new film based on the gruesome story of the Lizzie Borden axe murders:
"Stewart will not play Borden...Stewart is said to be in negotiations to play the Borden family's live-in maid, Bridget Sullivan, who witnessed the family dynamics in the weeks preceding the murders, was home when the crimes were committed, and was called to testify during the trial."
