Remix Bob Dylan's 'Cutting Edge 1965-1966' Bootlegs Via Studio A Revisited Microsite

With the latest Dylan-outtakes album on the market, The Cutting Edge 1965-1966: The Bootleg Series Volume 12, there also comes a new website that lets you remix the session's bloopers. The Studio A Revisited microsite allows you to take specific tracks and listen to them the way you want.

In lightning-round recording sessions, Bob Dylan coined three of his most recognizable and iconic albums: Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited and Blonde on Blonde. Encompassing the greater measure of the Dylan canon, these albums included "Mr. Tambourine Man," "Stuck Inside of Mobile With the Memphis Blues Again" and of course, "Like a Rolling Stone."

But with those monster tracks come monster outtakes, which are usually swept under the rug and discarded along with time. As has been the case with Mr. Dylan, these outtakes are collected for re-appropriation and issued as the ever-continuing bootleg series.

While the series issued a Basement Tapes reboot as not too long ago, these new recordings come from the "coolest" of Dylan years, the years spent rocking out with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band in search of "that wild mercury sound."

Can Misirlioglu, digital creative director at Havas Worldwide, which worked with Sony to produce the site, said of the project: "The way Dylan recorded those three albums-it was very immediate. We wanted to recreate that studio experience and carry over some of that spontaneity to an experience for fans."

Havas and Sony hope that the experiment will open doors to other recordings not as canonical as, say, "Just Like a Woman." The hits are still there to tinker with, have no fear.

Give the new series a listen below and make your way to the site to mix Dylan songs in the way you'd want to hear them.
