The Grammy Award-winning mezzo soprano Joyce DiDonato has released a digital album on iTunes.

Entitled "Homecoming: The Kansas City Symphony Presents Joyce DiDonato," the album was recorded in DiDonato's own hometown, Kansas City, with the Kansas City Symphony led by conductor Michael Stern.

The opera singer's new album includes Rossini's cantata "Giovanna d'Arco" a song-cycle "The Deepest Desire. Four Meditations on Love" by Jake Heggie, Verdi's "Forza del destino" Overture and Richard Strauss's "Rosenkavalier" Suite, and "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" from "The Wizard of Oz" as an encore.

American opera diva DiDonato is particularly admired for her interpretations of the songs of Handel, Mozart, and Rossini.

"Homecoming: The Kansas City Symphony Presents Joyce DiDonato" will air in Kansas City on July 20 at 9PM on KCPT Channel 19.
