Nearly three months after Cory Monteith's tragic death, a complete coroner's report has been released revealing new details about the actor's overdose. According to the findings, Monteith, was shooting heroin (as some had feared) and not snorting or smoking the drug. Meanwhile, Glee is just one week away from paying tribute to the fallen star. Next week's episode will feature the cast dealing with Monteith's character, Finn Hudson's, sudden death.
TMZ is reporting that they have received the official coroner's report about Glee star Cory Monteith's death.The detailed report not only confirms the initial findings, but it also reveals the ugly truth behind his death. The report finds that Monteith was not only using heroin but he was injecting the drug:
"mixed drug toxicity, involving intravenous heroin use combined with the ingestion of alcohol."
It also sites Monteith's troubled past as a contributing factor, noting that he:
"had a history of illicit drug use with intermittent periods of rehabilitation and of abstinence from drugs."
Meanwhile, Glee just entered its fifth season and is preparing to deal with the actor's death next week. Monteith's co-star, Jane Lynch, spoke with People Magazine last month about the tribute episode scheduled for Oct 10:
"It was hard, and it was beautifully written. We grieved together, and it was so important for the crew to grieve as well, so we kind of all grieved as a big family. It was really hard to do, but it was a really beautiful episode."
The episode titled "The Quarterback's" official synopses reads:
"In the wake of Finn’s sudden death, former members of New Directions return to McKinley to remember their fallen friend. While a stoic Mr. Schue encourages all the gleeks to 'memorialize him the way we do everything – by singing about it,' some of the kids find the exercise more cathartic than others. At the Hudson-Hummel home, Kurt, Burt and Carole sort through Finn’s belongings and what begins as a somber occasion blossoms into a poignant and much needed family moment."
