Miley Cyrus may be dubbed the unofficial spokesman of youths today after having received a Vanguard Award from the LGBT Center. Now, she has helped charity by adding value to a signed piano at auction the only way she knows how: by licking it.
According to reports, Cyrus was helping Linda Perry auction off a white grand piano to help benefit the LGBT Center. In hopes of adding value to the item, Cyrus had no shame in planting her tongue on the instrument.
And as one would imagine, the price soared up to $50,000 at auction and helped to benefit a worthy cause.
The piano was donated by Orange is the New Black superstar, Ruby Rose, and opened at $10,000, a nominal price for an item lined with stars.
Cyrus said per Billboard: "I want all of you to know that I feel beyond grateful to be in a room full of so many...people who care so much about others because unfortunately that is way too rare in the world that we live in today. I'm thinking of tonight not as celebrating what we've already done but what we're doing and what we're going to do in the future."
She continued: "There are more than 1.6 million runaway or homeless young people in the U.S. each year with 40 percent of homeless youth identifying as LGBTQ. And in just Hollywood where we are all sitting, royally with all of our food in front of us and all of these fancy a** clothes...something didn't' really feel quite right about it when we're in a city where there are more than 6,100 homeless people under the age of 24 on the streets on any given day and more than one in four of these people have experienced hate crimes due to their race, sexual orientation or their gender identity."
Cyrus is usually in keeping with the progressive pulse of her generation, speaking out publicly for LGBT rights and the prevalent homelessness throughout the nation. And yet, it only took a lick of the tongue to bring in more charity.
