Having performed with the six-piece chamber group last year at Lincoln Center, José González and yMusic plan to collaborate once more on González's forthcoming tour.
The tour will consist of 16 dates and will take place in March for the most part. While the New York chamber sextet and González have performed before, these upcoming performances will breathe new life into the singer-songwriter's tunes.
González said in a statement: "After a year of touring with a band focused on percussion and vocals I look forward to playing many of the same songs in a different style. I'm very excited to go on tour with yMusic! I love their setup and taste in arrangements, being six super talented musicians playing strings, flute, clarinet and trumpet, it feels like it opens us up from sounding energetic and avant-garde to classic and delicate."
yMusic is also excited about the upcoming collaboration and is looking forward to bringing their "musicianship and unique color" to José's music.
