'X-Men Apocalypse Rumors': Will There Be Another Awesome Quicksilver Scene in the next Film?

One of the best scenes from X-Men Days of Future Past was the last minute addition of the Quicksilver jailbreak scene involving Evan Peters and Michael Fassbender. Will the sequel, X-Men: Apocalypse, involve another Quicksilver scene that will wow fans like the first one did?

X-Men Days of Future Past was the followup film in the 'young X-Men trilogy', and was easily one of the best films of 2014. It melded together the many characters from the past and present X-Men films. This was a brilliant film, that intelligently toyed with the relationship between music, time, and costume. The film also allowed the franchise to successfully reboot some of the past mistakes that occurred.

Evan Peters began to amaze people when he starred in Kick-Ass, and also became a reoccurring actor on American Horror Story, and has not looked behind him since. He has a ton of television and big screen appearances on his resume, but it wasn't until the famous Quicksilver scene in Days of Future Past that he became a household name amongst fans of superhero films.

This was almost a scene that didn't happen. It was a last-minute addition that had every intention of having the X-Men franchise be the first to bring the character to the big screen. It was a stroke of brilliance, and perhaps one of the best scene to date in any superhero film.

Fans were distraught when He didn't have a bigger role in the film. How could they be left with just a brief encounter with the character. Immediately following the film's release, the cast and crew were bombarded with questions regarding whether or not Quicksilver would make a return in the sequel.

As the film's release date nears, Evan Peters has talked a bit about his sophmore appearance in the X-Men film franchise. He says, "Yeah, Quicksilver does his thing again. It's bigger, longer, and more detailed. I think it's an amazing sequence that they've put together. t's so cool to take that much time to make something like that really pop and really work. Knock on wood, I think it's going to be a fun and enjoyable sequence for people to watch, with Quicksilver running around and doing his thing in slow-mo time. I hope people like it."

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
