Mariah Carey may have moved into one of James Packer's mansions in Malibu, but some of his friends supposedly think that taking things to the next level would be a huge mistake. According to the latest gossip news updates, her billionaire boyfriend may not fully understand just what he is getting into by letting Mariah live with him. Meanwhile, the "All I Want for Christmas" singer recently revealed that while she and Packer may have only recently started dating, she actually met the Aussie with the $4 billion-plus personal net worth years ago when she was still married to Nick Cannon.
Mariah Carey recently did her best to clear the air surrounding her recently moving into one of James Packer's homes in Malibu -- explaining that while she was living there, her billionaire boyfriend was staying elsewhere.
One source in the latest November 30, issue of OK! Magazine insists that if Packer was smart he would just let Mariah have the place instead of ever actually living with her:
"He's told her she can do what she wants to the place, so she'll style it to match her taste.
"[But] James might want to brace himself...dating Mariah and living with her are two different things."
That might have been true about the old Mariah, but Carey recently insisted on The Steve Harvey Show that since becoming a mother she had changed from the self-centered diva she used to be into a responsible single mother (via TooFab):
"It used to be just about me. It used to be like, 'I've got to get my sleep, I've got to get my rest, I have to sing, and do this and that.'
"Now, it's really like, 'What are they doing? Are they asleep yet? What time are they getting up?' The activities for the next day. So, it's been a journey for me.
"It's just the beginning. I want to stay here. I want them to always be 4-years-old. It goes so fast."
Although it might seem like things are moving fast for James and Mariah, Carey revealed during her chat with Entertainment Tonight the other day that she and Packer have actually been friends for years:
"We first met in Aspen...at the Hercules premiere. We were talking and laughing and people were getting mad at us and stuff like that.
"So we hit it off."
