5 Unusual Christmas Movies You May Have Forgotten About [WATCH]

Like it or not, Christmas is right around the corner. The stockings are hung, the tree is up and "Jingle Bells" is going to play until your ears bleed. Before Santa comes down the chimney, you will have watched Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and a Christmas Story for the thousandth time, because... What else is there? Plenty! You may have seen the five unusual Christmas movies on this list before, but in the drone of the holiday season, you may have forgotten about them... Or maybe you just forgot they are full of the holiday spirit.

1. Eight Crazy Nights

Eight Crazy Nights is an animated film that follows the misadventures of Davey Stone, voiced by Adam Sandler, as he learns a life time's worth of lessons in eight crazy nights. The movie was inspired by Sandler's The Chanukah Song, originally written for Saturday Night Live where it became hugely popular. The lyrics of the song humorously remind Jewish people they are not alone during the holidays by listing off all the famous Jewish people who will also not put up a Christmas tree.

2.Hogfather

Terry Pratchett's Discworld is brought to life in this holiday mini-series in which Death Attempts to save the Hogfather from the Guild of Assassins with the help of some very unlikely heroes. If you have never seen Hogfather, trust me when I say you are missing out.

3. Edward Scissorhands

Edward Scissorhands is an odd character who grew up isolated from the world in an old castle. That is until the Avon lady comes calling. It isn't long before he is the talk of the town and the best hair stylist in the world. But no matter how hard he tries, Edward only hurts those he loves and just can't quite seem to fit in.

4. The Life of Brian

As only Monty Python can, The Life of Brian shadows the events of a man who lived his life in parallel to that of Jesus Christ. Brian is a bumbling idiot who accidentally joins The People's Front of Judea while trying to catch the eye of a pretty girl. In the process, he manages to garner the ire of the Romans and ends up crucified as an unwitting martyr to the cause. While this one is hilarious for most adults, it contains some nudity so isn't suitible for the kids.

5. Nightmare Before Christmas

Nightmare Before Christmas is a claymation stop-motion production that captures the true meaning of Christmas when Skeleton Jack, the Pumpkin King tries to steal the holiday from Santa Claus.
