Tom Cruise, the world’s most famous scientologist, may need a little help picking out a girlfriend or potential wife. A new report indicates that the Church of Scientology officially vetted ‘Homeland’s’ Nazanin Boniadi to be Tom Cruise’s love interest. This announcement comes right before Leah Remini will be testifying against the religion.
The Church of Scientology has been getting a lot of press lately. Unfortunately, most of it’s not the kind they would want.
In a recent article in Vanity Fair, the magazine claims that the Church of Scientology vetted Nazanin Boniadi as a possible candidate to be Tom Cruise’s new wife. The alleged vetting is claimed to have taken place back in 2004.
You may know the 31-year-old actress for her role on this season’s Homeland. She plays a CIA analyst in the award-winning action drama thriller.
At the time, Ms. Boniadi was among dozens of women considered for Tom. Then 25, the actress was allegedly selected because of her medical degree and slender frame.
The article was fairly graphic in it’s description of what Nazanin had to go through. According to the article, this includes changing her hair color, fixing her teeth and undergoing days of intimate questions.
Needless to say, the article did not paint Tom Cruise or the entire Church of Scientology in a positive light. According to the piece, Tom insisted that the actress file down some of her teeth, to be more visually attractive.
This announcement came just days before Leah Remini is set to testify against the church and their leader, David Miscavige. Ms. Remini was a longtime scientologist, before cutting her ties to the organization earlier in the summer.
Since her departure, she has been more than vocal about her dislike for the church. In fact, several days after her very high-profile split, she filed a missing persons report on behalf of Shelly Miscavige.
This created a slew of controversy as Shelly is the wife of David Miscavige. The actress went on to claim that Shelly has not been seen in public for the past six years. She also claimed that the Church wants her to fail on Dancing With the Stars.
