It seems that their Underworld bond wasn't strong enough to keep Kate Beckinsale and longtime husband Len Wiseman together after all. According to the latest gossip news updates, the Hollywood hot couple actually split months ago despite never officially commenting about their plans to divorce in public. Word has it that Kate even turned to Ben Affleck to get her through the recent breakup, and the two would no doubt be dating by now were it not for Batman's seemingly working things out with his wife, Jennifer Garner, at the last minute.
Although they have yet to confirm it themselves, OK! Magazine claims to have spoken to a source close to Kate Beckinsale and Len Wiseman who can say for sure that their marriage is over for good.
A secret insider explains in the latest December 14, issue that the Underworld couple's split has been a longtime coming, whether anyone wants to admit it or not:
"They'd drifted apart and were leading separate lives.
"Things were so great for a long time, it's hard to believe they weren't able to save the relationship."
Despite shying away from the public embarrassment, Len has already been seen out and about with 24-year-old CJ Franco, while Kate is said to have turned to an old crush to help get her through the breakup of her 11-year marriage.
The infromant that the UK's Sun supposedly spoke to claimed that the Underworld sex-symbol and Ben Affleck were in near constant communication by the time things finally unraveled with Len earlier this year (via Closer Weekly):
"She's turned to him for support as a friend because they've stayed in touch during her difficult time.
"Kate used to be madly in love with Ben. He would make her giddy with excitement any time they were in the same room."
Unfortunately for Kate, it looks as though Ben and Jennifer Garner were willing to give their marriage one last go, even if she and Len Wiseman were not.
