Watch Video: Official Trailer for 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2' is Shell-Shocking!

The trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is out, and it is remarkably good. Gone is the controversy, gone is the Michael Bay gimmicks, gone is the seriousness. This trailer gives us a fun TMNT movies that knows it came from a cartoon/comic book.

The controversy surrounding the first film (about the appearance of the Turtles) completely killed what should have been a fun film for the kiddos. I must admit, I was wrapped up in the whole thing as well. It took me half of the movie to finally get over the fact that these Turtles didn't look anything close to the ones that I grew up with. Michael Bay didn't direct the film, but served as the film's executive producer, and it was evident from the very beginning, that he had more than just a little influence on the film. It actually looked just like your typical Bay film.

When the first film hit theaters, I was apprehensive, but still watched it. It was not terrible, but still wasn't quite good. The heroes-in-a-half-shell reboot was a bit of a mess, with crass jokes inserted in at random. You would think that after I made it through the first movie, that I would not give this franchise another chance. You would be wrong in assuming that. Ninja Turtles is nostalgic to me, and unfortunately I will take a lifetime of disappointments just to get more of them.

The official trailer for the second film in the franchise, called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows has hit the Internet and it looks fun! Check out the trailer below:

This trailer has actually brought the fun back into the franchise. It appears as though we will finally be getting our first look at Krang and Dimension X in this film, and finally are getting a live-action Rocksteady and Bebop! They look great, and have nothing changed from the way that they appear in the comics and the cartoon. I am still not sold on the idea that the Turtles have all of this junk all over their bodies, but it appears that the studio is sticking with that decision. Raphael appears to have found a set of shoulder pads since the last film, something I might have left out of the final cut of the film.

I thought the mini van that we saw the Turtles in at the end of the last film was the Party Wagon, but it appears that it wasn't. This film will include their own version of the Party Wagon, looking more like a smaller semi. This version comes equipped with a lot of the gizmos that the toy line came with, including a sewer lid shooter in the front! I am glad that the studio decided to take a less serious approach to the TMNT. This trailer looks like a true Nickelodeon film. Bravo.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Out of the Shadows will hit theaters on June 3, 2016.
