5 Bold Predictions for Oakland Raiders vs. San Diego Chargers in NFL Week 16

The Oakland Raiders are set to host the San Diego Chargers on Thursday Night Football in NFL Week 16 action. What five bold predictions can be made for the game and what should fans be on the lookout for throughout the game?

1. Derek Carr Throws for Over 300 Yards, Three Touchdowns

San Diego has a poor secondary to say the least, which gives Raiders' quarterback Derek Carr a good chance to put up big numbers this week. Carr will throw for over 300 yards and will throw at least three touchdown passes throughout the course of the game. Oakland should put up big offensive numbers and Carr will once again show that he is the answer that the Raiders have been searching for at quarterback.

2. Philip Rivers Matches Derek Carr

While the Chargers may not have a good secondary, the Raiders' secondary is just about as bad. Philip Rivers should have a huge game as well and will match Carr's numbers He will throw for over 300 yards as well with three touchdowns on the afternoon and will put his team in the position to pull out a win late in the game with a couple big plays.

3. Amari Cooper Will Put Up Superstar Production Again

Oakland drafted Amari Cooper with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft and they are very glad that they did. He has erupted into superstardom already and the future is incredibly bright for the Oakland offense. Cooper will put up superstar production once again this week and will absolutely destroy the San Diego defense.

4. Antonio Gates Will Finish Strong Season with 100 Yards, Two Touchdowns

One of the best tight ends in recent NFL history is Antonio Gates, who has been one of the Chargers' faces of their franchise for many years. He will finish the 2015 season strong with 100 yards and two touchdowns. Gates doesn't have a ton of time left in his NFL career, but he will end this season on a very positive note.

5. Oakland Pulls Off a Big Win to Improve to 7-8

There is no question that the Raiders are the better football team heading into this week's game. San Diego is going to put up a fight, but the Raiders will make the plays down the stretch to win the game. It shouldn't be too terribly close either when everything is said and done.
