They seem like the picture of happiness whenever out in public, but behind the scenes George Clooney's wife, Amal Alamuddin, is said to be complaining about their marriage. According to the latest gossip news updates, the London lawyer is unhappy being Batman's bride and may soon split. Word has it that her professional life, however, is a real upswing following her union with the Hollywood star -- with Amal reportedly raising her hourly rate to $750 to keep up with increased demand for her services.
She might have more sense than to say anything less than flattering that about her marriage to George Clooney in public, but when she is alone with her friends Amal Alamuddin is said to have no problem complaining about her new husband.
One source in the latest January 4, issue of Star magazine claims that during a recent night out gabbing with her gal pals Amal wouldn't shut up about how unhappily married she is:
"Amal was slugging wine and vodka and got really tipsy, which we've never seen before; she hardly used to drink at all.
"She was very weepy and emotional; it was clear she's not happy.
"She said she isn't living her own life anymore and just kept drinking."
Whatever issues she might have with her marriage, it seems impossible to argue that it hasn't been beneficial to her career.
The secret insider that the UK's Sun spoke to revealed that Amal has been in such high demand at her firm that she has been able to raise her rates to a whopping $750 an hour (via Design& Tend):
"That works out as [$5961] a day.
"There are no set rates but usually barristers will charge around [$300] to [$450] an hour. The very best people can charge more."
