GHOST The Musical to Close on Broadway [VIDEO]

The musical adaptation of 1990 film "Ghost" will conclude its Broadway run on August.

The producers of Ghost The Musical announced today the musical will perform its final show on Broadway on August 18 at 8 pm at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The show will have lasted 39 previews and 136 regular performances since its opening show on April 23, 2012.

Despite its ending, the musical will still be playing in London, and a U.S. national tour will launch in the fall of 2013. Productions also are scheduled for Korea, Germany, Sweden, Hungary, Japan, China and Australia, with more international productions in progress.

Ghost The Musical is based on the hit romantic movie of the same name that starred Patrick Swayze who played as a ghost trying to communicate with his girlfriend, played by Demi Moore, through a fake psychic, played by Whoopi Goldberg.

Directed by Matthew Warchus, the musical stars Caissie Levy, Richard Fleeshman, Da'Vine Joy Randolph and Bryce Pinkham with music and lyrics by Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard and book and lyrics by Academy Award winner Bruce Joel Rubin.

Ghost The Musical received 2012 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Set Design (Jon Driscoll, Rob Howell and Paul Kieve) and 2012 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Lighting Design (Hugh Vanstone).
