Wendy Williams Slams Ed Sheeran Instagram Sabbatical?

It would seem that Wendy Williams is none too impressed with Ed Sheeran's making a big deal about his taking a temporary break from social media. According to the latest gossip news updates, the BET talk show host sees the popstar's hiatus as letting his dedicated Instagram followers down. If the bewigged gossip queen had her way, Sheeran would have to hire someone to keep posting content online, before he would be allowed to go anywhere.

While it would have made just as much sense for Ed Sheeran to just quietly take a break from posting to his social media accounts the 24-year-old British singer-songwriter recently made a point of letting everyone know that he was walking away from the hustle and bustle of uploading content for the time being (via The Sun):

"I'm taking a break from my phone, emails and all social media for a while.

"I find myself seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes."

For her part, Wendy Williams is less than impressed with Ed's rededicating to seeing the word through his own eyes.

In her latest contribution to the January 4, issue of Life & Style Wendy slams Sheeran for only thinking about himself, when so many of his fans count on the joy that his Instagram pics bring to their lives:

"I think it's foolish that Ed Sheeran announced he will be taking a break from social media to see the world.

"He's going to let a lot of fans down. If I Were him, I would hire a social media manager to run my account for me.

"Ed you are running the risk of being forgotten."

What do you think of Wendy Williams critique of Ed's new social media policy?

Is he crazy to leave his fans high and dry with their Instagram and Twitter needs going unmet?

Or, is it nice to see at least one young popstar signing off from social media -- even if it is for just a short time?

Let us hear what you have to say about Sheeran in the comment field below.
