It seems that getting killed off from Grey's Anatomy may be the best thing that ever happened to Patrick Dempsey. According to the latest gossip news updates, McDreamy is now dating none other the Mrs. Batman herself, Jennifer Garner. Word has it that not only has Ben Affleck's loss been his gain, but the race car driver hasn't even been bothered by Shonda Rhimes seemingly talking smack about him. The former Dr. Derek Shepherd insists that he was ready to go as he wraps shooting on his new movie, Bridget Jones' Baby.
Shortly after his death on Grey's Anatomy it was revealed that Patrick Dempsey real-life marriage had also fallen apart, though the Loverboy alum hardly looks any worse for the ware.
In addition to landing a leading role in Rene Zellweger's latest Bridget Jones installment, a secret source in the latest January 11, issue of OK! Magazine claims that he is also dating Ben Affleck's soon-to-be ex-wife, Jennifer Garner:
"They Skype all the time, and are constantly texting back and forth.
"Jen is so happy...She is almost like a teenager with a crush.
"It's been so long since she felt this way with anyone. They are falling in love."
Seemingly in equally high spirits during his recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Dempsey claimed that he didn't even mind when Shonda Rhimes went on late night television and joked about killing off the actors that she didn't like:
"I think she loves being provocative and that's fine for who she is. That gets people talking about all the stuff that she's doing. She's an amazing woman who is incredibly productive.
"She's promoting a book. She's promoting three shows. And she's emerging as the star of all of these things. I think she knows how to deal with the media and what she needs to say to get the response that she's looking for. She's very savvy."
