2016 NFL Draft: Tennessee Titans Should Take Joey Bosa With No. 1 Pick - DE From Ohio State

The 2015 NFL regular season is officially over, and that means the top 20 picks are locked in place. The Tennessee Titans have the No. 1 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, and they need a true defensive playmaker. Truly, the only choice is Ohio State DE Joey Bosa, and they should pick him the second they got on the clock.

In fact, oftentimes, teams with the No. 1 pick announce who they're taking before the draft even begins. I might announce it tomorrow if I were the Titans' GM.

OK, that may be a bit excessive. But seriously, Bosa is a freak of nature. He's the only player in the draft who I believe can be likened to J.J. Watt even a little bit -- hands down, the most dominant defensive player in the NFL.

After going offense taking Oregon QB Marcus Mariota in last year's draft with the No. 2 pick, Tennessee needs to go defense and get that defensive playmaker they've been needing for years now. A bona fide superstar on that side of the ball would really point the Titans arrow up, and it's been quite some time since that's been the case for this particular franchise. Mired in mediocrity since Steve McNair, essentially, the Titans would be foolish to pass on this opportunity.

Bosa is a 6-foot-6 behemoth, weighing in at over 275 pounds. Not only is he strong enough to go through defenders on a bull rush, but his array of agile moves are second to none at the college level right now. He's an expert applying a swim move, and his ability to split two blockers if stunning.

Not only does he make an impact rushing the passer, but stuffs the run as well as any defensive lineman. Bosa is also versatile enough to line up inside or outside, and on either side of the line. He did it all throughout college, and if Tennessee indeed does retain it's 3-4 alignment (depending on a potential coaching change), he'll be a beast moving all around and potentially even standing up from the OLB spot from time to time.

Drafting a player, much like Mariota last year, will be franchise-altering. Having that dynamic of a player on each side of the ball will only be a good thing for the Titans moving forward.
