The 26-11 Oklahoma City Thunder and 15-24 Portland Trail Blazers face off tonight at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. These two teams are obviously on very different paths down this 2015-16 NBA season, but we still get to see an excellent point guard matchup in Russell Westbrook vs. Damian Lillard. As said before, these two teams are on very different paths this season. This was a great matchup the past couple of years, when Portland had LaMarcus Aldridge, Nicolas Batum, Wesley Matthews, etc. But now, the Blazers are in a rebuilding mode, as they really only have a few young players with promise put around Lillard.
OKC, on the other hand, has been rolling all season. There was a minor bump in the road early in there year where they had trouble closing games, but that's fallen by the wayside. The Thunder now have the fourth-best record in the league, and have nine of the last 11.
The Blazers have lost four of the last five, and that's even with Lillard becoming the first player in franchise history to score 40 points while dishing 10 assists in one game.
Ultimately, this game doesn't seem to be too much of a problem for OKC. Kevin Durant and Westbrook have been dominant on almost a nightly basis, and they have quite a bit of help around them. The Blazers, on the other hand, have two players in Lillard and C.J. McCollum, and not nearly as much help. Unless players like Allen Crabbe step up and score consistently, this game won't be too close.
