'Left 4 Dead 3' Rumors: Valve Fast Tracking New Zombie Game for 2017

Valve is one of those software developers gamers both love and hate, with award winning titles like Half-Life 2, Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2. For those anticipating their next game, rumor indicates Left 4 Dead 3 is in development, with Valve fast tracking the new game for a 2017 release.

The Left 4 Dead series is one of the best zombie games to date, though it focuses more on a semi-story driven set of campaigns as opposed to more open world survival games like 7 Days to Die. One of the reasons for Left 4 Dead's success is the strong pull of its multiplayer. The thrill of the hunt when playing as a zombie or the joy in surviving another round as a survivor have led to a community still thriving several years after the release of Left 4 Dead 2.

Now rumors from Express indicate that "VALVE have made Left 4 Dead 3 their top gaming priority," and "it is believed that the latest title has been given a 2017 release date." Valve is notorious for toying with the hopes and dreams of fans, though of course, this time must be different from all the others.

According to Screen Rant, "This isn't the first time that Left 4 Dead 3 rumors have cropped up; a number of rumors started back in 2013 when pictures of a PowerPoint presentation, showing what appeared to be Left 4 Dead 2's Plantation map reworked and rendered in the Source 2.0 game engine, made its way online."

Naturally, fans are fervently hoping we'll actually get the game this time. Valve has been somewhat lacking in releasing sequels to games long hoped for, and considering how large a fan base these games have, it seems unlikely that anything they release, so long as it isn't complete crap, will sell well.

So what do you think of the latest Left 4 Dead 3 rumors? Any chance Valve is actually working on the game? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below!
