The Razzie Awards: A Look Back At Hollywood's Worst

The Razzie Awards (the Golden Raspberry Awards to be proper) are also right around the corner from the Academy Awards or Oscars. The Razzie awards acknowledge the best of the worst for each year in films. Nothing is off limits here. From big budget blockbusters, to independent film, from D-list celebrities, to A-list celebrities, the Razzie awards do not discriminate.

The Razzie awards aren't known for being televised, but have grown in reach as the show is now covered by major media outlets. It isn't taken for as the farce it once was. In the three or so decades of the ceremony, celebrities aren't known for showing up. However, in the last decade Sandra Bullock and HalleBerry (both Oscar and Razzie winners) showed up and surprised fans with their witty and crass acceptance speeches, and making their appearances memorable. It's good to know they both have a sense of humor and aren't afraid to admin when they suck.

In 2005, Halle Berry showed up to collect her worst actress award for Catwoman. It's obvious she is very deserving of this award.

Catwoman is easily one of the worst films to ever exist. Fans are still trying to answer why this film decided to deviate from the original material. Everyone hated this film, and I mean everyone. It has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Speaking of redemption, Halle Berry is still trying to redeem her acting career from this cinematic blunder. Berry takes it all in stride and pretty much slams the film along with everyone else. Her Razzie acceptance speech is filled with hate for just about everyone involved in the project. Its really a great acceptance speech and can be watched here: Razzie channel on youtube.

Sandra Bullock is a versitle actress who can do drama and comedy. But in 2010's All About Steve, she failed on the comedy end. Bullock showed up to the Razzie ceremony locked and loaded with goodies for the audience. She was sure to bring copies of All About Steve as well as full scripts for everyone to take home and torture themselves with.

In an interesting turn of events, 24 hours later Sandra Bullock won an undeserving Oscar for her role in The Blind Side. I find it interesting she deserved the Razzie and not the Oscar. Oh well, its great to know she isn't above admitting when she sucks.

What do you think? Do you think these are two of the worst performances from these actresses? What do you think of their acceptance speeches?
