Wynton Marsalis Performs at Lincoln Center Without Skrillex?

It is true that Wynton Marsalis is set to begin his weekend residency at the Lincoln Center on the 22, but the celebrated musician is slated to play with his band, The Jazz, not famed DJ, Skrillex. According to the latest gossip news updates, the reports about Marsalis teaming up with the EDM producer earlier this month turned out to be completely false and hopefully won't affect the tickets sells of 3 concerts with The Jazz next weekend.

Despite their being regarded as some two of the best in their particular fields of music, Thump reports that WNYU's Facebook post announcing that Wynton Marsalis and Skrillex would joining forces for a one of a kind concert experience at the Lincoln Center in the spring are "completely fabricated":

"Jazz at Lincoln Center is proud to present acclaimed electronic composer and producer Sonny John Moore, better known professionally as Skrillex, joined by Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra in an evening that will provide a musical conversation across generation and style."

Thankfully for his fans, Wynton Marsalis upcoming weekend residency at the Lincoln Center, slated for January 22 and 23, is still on track, but the 54-year-old trumpeter will be accompanied by his usual band, The Jazz, instead of Skrillex' hard-hitting beats:

"Led by Marsalis, the internationally acclaimed 15-piece ensemble is made up of some of today's top jazz virtuosos."

For tickets to any one of the tree shows scheduled for next weekend contact the Chicago Symphony Orchestra online at cso.org, or at the Symphony Center box office: 220 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL 60604.
