The Orlando Magic have been taking a look at Nik Vucevic's scoring recently, and the results aren't good. "Although he leads the team in scoring and carried the Magic to some wins in December, Vucevic has struggled on offense this month, partly because his pattern of drifting farther from the hoop has accelerated. According to the NBA's official statistics database and Orlando Sentinel research, Vucevic has attempted almost 51 percent of his shots this month from outside the paint." As the teams' leading scorer, Vucevic will need to work on improving his runs and getting closer to the basket. He is an excellent scorer, but continuous shots from further away than necessary leading to fewer points both for him and his team.
The Boston Celtics' recent victory run isn't just about their prowess in scoring, but the definitive defense they've shown on the court in the recent string of wins. According to Fox Sports, "While the Boston Celtics are in the midst of an impressive scoring run, a continued aggressive approach defensively has fueled their current winning streak." Continued focus on defense is likely to be the key to shutting down the Magic tonight, especially since the Magic's lead scorer tends to shoot further then need be.
