The Jacksonville Jaguars saw quarterback Blake Bortles take a big step forward throughout the 2015 NFL season. What five takeaways can be seen from the year he had and what should fans be looking forward to with him?

1. Blake Bortles Has Finally Proved He Has Franchise QB Talent

After struggling during his rookie season, Blake Bortles came out in his second season and showed the Jaguars that they have franchise quarterback talent. He ended up completing 58.6 percent of his passes for 4,428 yards, 35 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. The interception total was still high, but he can fix that with hard work throughout the offseason.

2. He Has to Figure Out How to Cut Out the Turnovers

As mentioned under the first point, Bortles has to figure out how to cut out the turnovers moving forward. He was a bit high on interceptions throughout the 2015 season and has to lower that number. Bortles still has plenty of potential to work his way into, which needs to happen this coming offseason.

3. Jacksonville Is Well on Their Way to Bortles Leading Them a Championship

There was noticeable improvement for the Jaguars from the 2014 season to 2015. Bortles has shown that he is without question the type of quarterback that can help lead them to a championship. He still has work to do in order to make that happen, but the Jaguars are well on their way to getting back into postseason contention.

4. Blake Bortles Has an Excellent Work Ethic

One major question mark for every young player is whether they have a good work ethic or not. Blake Bortles proved that he does have an excellent work ethic throughout his second season. It was obvious that he had taken the leap in every category and will look to do so this offseason as well looking ahead to next season.

5. He Is One of the Top Up-and-Coming Quarterbacks in the League

Looking around the rest of the NFL, there are very few teams with better young quarterbacks. There are a few teams that have better players, but the majority of them have similar or worse quarterbacks coming up. If Bortles continues developing at the pace that he showed this season, the Jaguars should have one of the better quarterbacks in the league in the next couple of seasons.
