Lin-Manuel Miranda Tweets Preview of ‘Hamilton the Revolution’ Broadway History and Lyric Book

Lin-Manuel Miranda loves musicals. He doesn’t just go see the shows and listen to the soundtracks, but he fully immerses himself into the story behind the story. Recently, Miranda announced that a history of Hamilton the Broadway Show would be released. Now thanks to Twitter we are getting our first look at the new book Hamilton the Revolution. The new book about how the hit show came to Broadway, will also feature lyrics for the shows songs. A complete score for the show will be published separately at a later time.

Grand Central Publishing is producing a new book by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Jeremy McCarter. The book will feature the actual history of Alexander Hamilton along with the history of the show. The book will also feature annotated lyrics for the show.

Lin-Manuel Miranda spoke up about the reasons behind the book in a press release (via Entertainment Weekly):

“When I fall in love with a musical, I want to know everything about it. I remember Rent changing my life on my 17th birthday and being so grateful for the Rent book, which so beautifully brought the story behind Jonathan Larson’s musical to life. Our goal here is to take you inside Hamilton: not just the timeline of its creation, but the thought process, historical considerations, and artistic decisions that went into my lyrics, from beginning to end. I want you to know everything about it.”

Hamilton the Revolution will be available for purchase on April 12 2016.
