Looks like the feud between Howard Stern and Bill Maher is raging on. The ‘AGT’ judge recently blasted the host of ‘Real Time’ on his hit morning show.
Stern was live this past week and, as usual, he didn’t hold back. That’s especially true when it came to Bill Maher.
As is often the case for Stern, a simple phone call was turned into radio gold. When a caller commented on Bill Maher’s 9/11 statements, Stern was ready with a clip. Before playing it, Howard set up the clip by saying, “Here’s Bill, since he’s busy quoting me.”
Stern was referencing the fact that Bill has been quoting jokes Stern made after being attacked on 9/11. The radio legend, who was clearly joking, called for the bombing of nearly every foreign country after the DC and NY attacks.
Bill’s statements, however, were radically different. In case you missed them, Howard played them in their entirety, where Bill revealed:
“We’re the cowards, lobbing cruise missiles from 2000 miles away. That is cowardly. Say what you want about it, it’s not cowardly.”
After the comments played, Howard went back into attack mode:
“That’s what his thoughts were about it--when those planes crashed into the towers--how brave those terrorists were. That’s the last thought I had on my mind. Since he wants to remind people what I said. I’m not gonna harp on it anymore. It’s like beating a dead horse, as OJ Simpson would say.”
This isn’t the first time that Stern has been upset with Maher’s quoting him. Last month, Stern offered some insight into why he believes Bill keeps bringing him up:
“He is hung up on me. I don’t know what it is with him...I don’t want to go on his show because for me to go on a show and talk politics is ludicrous. I’m not versed in being a talking head for politics. I don’t want to get on there and talk about that horses--t. Get Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh...they’re into that. Why don’t you run for office Bill, if you’re into this kinda’ sh--t? You are a fu--ing maniac. How’s this, Bill? Fu-- you and leave me alone! I invited you on the show. Come on if you want.”
