'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child': Harry Potter is Getting 2 More Books

Fans of the beloved Harry Potter book series rejoice as news of an upcoming book release has hit the streets. If you are a Potterhead, and can't wait to read the next story in the Harry Potter saga, then your wait is almost over, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Pt. I & II is almost here.

According to Potter site Pottermore, the new stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Pt. I & II will be available in book form this year. The site goes on to confirm that following the plays world premiere in the summer a Special Rehearsal Edition of the script book will be published, featuring the script as it was during the plays preview performances. The play will open for several weeks for preview performances before officially debuting on July 30th in London's West End.

It is almost as if dreams really do come true. J.K. Rowling has been working for some time on a Harry Potter play, titled Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Fans never imagined that Rowling would turn this story into another book, and even better, it will be two books!

Later in the year another version of the book will be published, replacing the Special Rehearsal Edition with the Definitive Collectors Edition. Picking up where Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows left off the official synopsis of the play states that, "While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places."

Rowling has stated that this is not the eighth Harry Potter book, but according to Pottermore it is the eighth Harry Potter tale. Rowling has recently clarified this confusion on her Twitter account, stating that the book is only the plays script in published form, not a new novel. She goes on to say that the events of the play take place around the time of the epilogue at the end of The Deathly Hallows. Either way, this is great news!

If you don't mind reading scripts, then this will be a must-have for you as soon as it hits bookshelves. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child debuts on July 30 in London's West End.
