Lifetime Orders More ‘Dance Moms’ Season 6 Episodes

Despite the fact the its breakout star, Maddie Ziegler, has just announced her intention to quit the show and Abby Lee Miller could possibly be looking at federal prison time, Lifetime wants more episodes of Dance Moms. According to the latest gossip news updates, the network has just ordered an undisclosed amount of additional episodes for Season 6. In more Dance Moms news, Maddie Ziegler isn't the only one moving on to bigger and better things, Asia Monet Ray recently opened up about how great it was to be working alongside Hollywood legends like John Travolta and Cuba Gooding Jr. on FX' The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.

Fans of Lifetime's Dance Moms that might have been worried that Maddie Ziegler announcement that she wouldn't be a part of Season 6 would put the show in danger need fret not as Deadline just broke the news that the network has announced that it still wants more of the series:

"Lifetime is extending the sixth-season run of Dance Moms with an unspecified number of additional episodes.

"Production on those begins in April for premiere later this year. Currently airing Tuesdays at 9 PM, Dance Moms is produced by Collins Avenue."

While much has been made of Maddie Ziegler's leaving the series, Sia's music video muse is hardly the only rising talent at ALDC.

Ziegler might be moving on the Hollywood blockbusters, but 10-year-old Asia Monet Ray has already been a part of FX's epic miniseries, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.

During a recent interview with Fox News, Ray opened up about what it was like playing Simpson's daughter, Sydney:

"I love playing Sydney Simpson and researching and googling because I wasn't born in 1994, I was born in 2005. So I definitely had to brush up on a lot of history.

"I loved playing Sydney. She's a super sweet girl, athlete, loved doing what normal kids do, but she went through a very difficult time in her life -- a mixture of feelings and emotions. I feel for her and...I loved playing her."

Hopefully Dance Moms will have ever bit as bright a future as its most talented students.
