Tony Award Winner BD Wong Returns to TV in Fox’s ‘Gotham’ as Dr Hugo Strange

Tony Award winner B.D. Wong (M. Butterfly, You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, Law & Order: SVU, OZ) is returning to television next week in Fox’s hit Batman prequel Gotham. Wong will be portraying the classic Batman villain, Dr Hugo Strange, as part of the Wrath of the Villain's storyline. In the comics, Hugo Strange is a mad scientist obsessed with Batman, who even takes to dressing as the caped crusader in an almost fetish type manner.

Gotham put Wong on the wrong side of Law & Order as seen in this clip of Strange experimenting on the Penguin (Robin Lord-Taylor):

Know for his role as Dr. George Huang on NBC’s Law & Order: SVU as well as Father Ray Mukada on HBO’s OZ.

Wong has also appeared in films like Jurassic World and the HBO movie version of The Normal Heart.

Wong won the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Play for his Broadway debut in M. Butterfly.

Little known fact, Wong also played Linus Van-Pelt in the Broadway revival of You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, alongside, Anthony Rapp, Roger Bart, Kristin Chenoweth and Ilana Levine.

Gotham returns Monday Feb 29 on Fox.
