Rumors have been flying that Paula Deen will be getting a divorce in 2013 from her longtime husband Michael Groover. However, a new report claims that Deen’s racial comment scandal is not leading to a break up and the couple is happier than ever.
Despite numerous claims from the National Examiner, Michael Groover and Paula Deen will not be splitting up in 2013. According to a source who recently spoke with Us Weekly, they are still very much in love:
"This story is absolutely not true. They have never been closer. Michael adores her and Paula adores him. They are completely fine."
This is good news for Paula, who has had an admittedly rough year. The celebrity chef spent most of the year fighting claims that she was a racist. This was especially true after she admitted to using the “n-word.”
Deen was in a deposition when she revealed that at one point she used the racially charged word, but claims that it was only when she was being robbed by a black man. It was still enough, however, to destroy her cooking empire.
The case was eventually thrown out and Lisa Jackson, who was suing both the celebrity chef and her brother, issued a statement to the press, claiming:
"I assumed that all of my complaints about the workplace environment were getting to Paula Deen, but I learned during this matter that this was not the case.The Paula Deen I have known for more than eight years, is a woman of compassion and kindness and will never tolerate discrimination or racism of any kind toward anyone. I now know that the workplace environment issues that I raised are being reviewed and will in the future no longer be at issue. I wish Ms. Deen and her family all the best in all of their future endeavors and I am very pleased that this matter has been now been resolved and can now be put behind us."
Jackson’s comments, however, came too late. By then, Paula already lost her cooking show, product lines, book deals and partnership with Wal-Mart.
