BRIC Presents Shara Worden’s My Brightest Diamond Band in Concert
On March 18, BRIC happily presents an incredibly rare opportunity to see vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Shara Worden's full band, My Brightest Diamond, which defies genre and mixes chamber, pop, electronica, and avant-rock to create a truly unique hauntingly beautiful sound. The evening, which takes place at BRIC House, will feature a selection of songs from across their acclaimed four-album catalogue.
Worden's multi-faceted career as My Brightest Diamond, which began with an acclaimed independent rock record, has reflected her journey into the world of performing arts. Her most recent album, 2014's This Is My Hand, marked a confident return to rock music, one informed by her mastery of composition and a new exploration into the electronic.
In between projects with My Brightest Diamond, well-known fans of Worden's became collaborators, and collaborative projects amassed.
Highlights include singing in Laurie Anderson's 2008 show Homeland, delivering guest vocals on The Decemberists' 2009 Hazards of Love album and subsequently joining them on tour, performing in Bryce and Aaron Dessner's multimedia presentation The Long Count, singing and recording for Pulitzer Prize-winning composer David Lang and singing in Sarah Kirkland Snider's "Penelope" and "Unremembered."
Worden has also worked with David Byrne (on his concept musical Here Lies Love), Fat Boy Slim, Bon Iver and The Blind Boys of Alabama. Her opera You Us We All made its American premiere at BAM in November, and she is currently writing a new album and working on her next opera to debut in 2018.
Tickets for Shara Worden's concert with her band, My Brightest Diamond, at the BRIC -- priced at $29 the day of or $25 in advance -- are available for purchase through the BRIC House's official website or by phone at (866) 811-4111.
