‘Producers’ Nathan Lane & Matthew Broderick Reunite on 'Jimmy Kimmel' for Trump Sketch

Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick recently reprised their roles from the smash hit Broadway musical/film The Producers in a brand new sketch from Jimmy Kimmel Live. Only this time they are Bialystock and Bloom Political Consultants and their scheme involves secretly running Donald J Trump’s Presidential campaign, promising ambassadorships to France in exchange for donations. What could possibly go right? Check out the video below to see the sketch for yourself which also includes cameos from Jimmy Kimmel and the legendary Cloris Leachman.

Regardless of who you are voting for, that sketch was objectively funny. No doubt about it.

The Producers is a musical adaptation of Mel Brooks’ classic original 1968 film starring Zero Mostel as Max Bialystock, the producer, and Gene Wilder as Leo Bloom. Brooks later adapted the musical to film in 2005 which also starred Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick as Bialystock and Bloom respectively.

The 2001 musical won an impressive 12 Tony Awards including: Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical (Lane), and Best Direction of a Musical (Susan Stroman), just to name a few.

What did you think of the sketch? Were you happy to see Leo and Max reunite? Would you like to see Trumped turned into a real musical? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
