Norah Jones Announces Dual Newport Festival Performances and Sixth Studio Album

In showcasing herself as a cross-over artist, the wildly talented Ms. Norah Jones will perform consecutive weekends at both Newport Folk and Jazz Festivals in July. With a sixth studio album announced for the fall, Ravi Shankar's daughter is cementing herself as a legendary folk, jazz and popular artist.

Coupled with the announcement of Jones' debut at both festivals is her sixth studio album due out on Blue Note Records later this year. Since the performance dates will fall somewhat in view of her fall release it's not unsafe to say that she will be performing some new tunes.

George Wein, the festival's founder, said of Ms. Jones:

"Norah Jones is one of America's great singers of songs. The scope of her artistry is so broad that it's possible for her to appear at both the Newport Folk Festival and Newport Jazz Festival, while still feeling comfortable that she will reach her audience and fans at these two historic cultural events. We are proud to have her with us."

The festival also observes "rolling lineup announcements" meaning that artists are being announced on a weekly basis as they are added to bill.

On the bill already are Flight of the Conchords and their revival tour, Ray Lamontagne, a solo Father John Misty, Nathaniel Rateliff, St. Paul and the Broken Hearts, Ruby Amanfu and more.

A most exciting roundup of artists, it is with great excitement that Ms. Norah Jones I poised to do a double-program over the course of two weekends for the Newport crowd.

Preview Ms. Jones below in the meantime while you await the festivals this July.
