Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre in the world premiere of Romy and Michele's High School Reunion the Musical. The show will be based on the 1997 movie of the same which same name which starred Lisa Kudrow (Friends) and Mira Sorvino (Human Trafficking, Norma Jean & Marilyn). The upcoming production will be directed by Kristin Hanggi (Rock of Ages) and choreographed by Kelly Devine (Fun Home, Rock of Ages, Rocky).
Playbill spoke with a 5th Avenue spokesperson who revealed to them the “production will be workshopped at the theatre's second annual NextFest this October prior to its full-scale premiere June 8-July 2, 2017.”

“Love Song” singer Sara Bareilles has provided the music for an all musical adaptation of the 2007 film Waitress. The musical stars Jessie Mueller and goes into previews on March 25, 2016 and officially opens on April 24, 2016 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on 256 W. 47th St.
Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening) has provided the music for American Psycho the Musical. The musical premiered in London in 2013, and is now making its way across the pond.
American Psycho begins previews on March 24, 2016 and will officially opening date set for April 20, 2016. American Psycho the Musical is Directed by Rupert Goold and will be performed at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre located at 236 West 45th Street.
