Benicio Del Toro recently spoke with the french publication Les Inrockuptibles, about his role in GOTG:

“When someone calls you and says ‘I need you in my movie,’ it’s exciting. I like comic book movies, and it’s totally new for me. My character is The Collector. I’ve never heard of him so I just started [to research] about him…A blockbuster can be really tiring to do, but it’s fun to shoot one occasionally. You have many people around you who bombard you with [a lot of] information...You cannot go wrong. For example they told you ‘Now you have to go in this restaurant and kill this person.’ And then you ask: ‘Who? The blue haired girl, or the guy with the wig? ‘And you don’t get the answer. And suddenly, you heard ‘Action!’. And you have to go along: so you shoot everywhere and they’ll find a solution for the final cut."
The world got its first look at Del Toro as The Collector during the end credits scene of Thor 2: The Dark World. GOTG director James Gunn recently spoke with MTV News about the flamboyant character:
“He’s out there man. He’s the best. He’s so out there. We just kept watching him on set and being like ‘Oh my God.’ He’s probably the character that was the most different from what I imagined. Although I did sort of say he’s like an outer-space Liberace. That’s what it says in the script, which he’s kind of doing. He really came in prepared and doing something utterly unique and he’s mesmerizing the whole time he’s in the movie.”
Meanwhile, the film's star, Chris Pratt, recently revealed that he was once a stripper. The Parks and Rec star compared himself to a poor man’s Channing Tatum on The Ellen Degeneres Show, when he revealed:
“When I was a kid, I was in a small town. I was a stripper for a little while, for a little while. It was very low rent.”
Pratt also revealed his new, toned physique with in a shirtless Instagram pic, along with the caption:
“Six months no beer. #GOTG Kinda d*****y to post this but my brother made me.”
