Ben Affleck Reacts to Ricky Gervais Unfaithful Diss at The Golden Globes

Ben Affleck has finally opened up about Ricky Gervais‘ joke about him at the 2016 Golden Globes back in January. The ceremony's host took a shot at the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice actor for being unfaithful to Jennifer Garner.

As the 54-year-old comedian introduced Affleck's longtime BFF, Matt Damon, to the stage, he jokingly slammed him by calling out his alleged cheating scandal with the nanny, Christine Ouzounian. “He’s also the only person that Ben Affleck hasn’t been unfaithful to,” Gervais said at the time.

The 43-year-old actor broke his silence about Gervais' Golden Globes joke in a new interview with The New York Times. Shockingly, Affleck took the diss well and even had a good laugh.

“It’s the way Ricky Gervais perceives me, I suppose,” he told the paper while laughing. “Whatever. I’ve had jokes made at my expense before. It’s part of the deal.”

After they officially announced their divorce in June of 2015, Aflleck and Garner were bombarded with questions concerning their split. Surprisingly, the ex-couple knows how to handle the pressure and learned to accept their new reality.

Garner also admitted during her tell-all interview with Vanity Fair for the March 2016 issue that she too found Gervais' joke funny.

“I laughed,” she told the mag. “People have pain — they do regrettable things, they feel shame, and shame equals pain. No one needs to hate [Ben] for me. I don’t hate him. Certainly we don’t have to beat the guy up.”

The couple confirmed their split in a joint statement saying, "We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time."
