Duncan Sheik’s ‘American Psycho the Musical’ Opens Tonight for Previews
Go ahead and finish that morning routine and get those video tapes returned because American Psycho the Musical is on Broadway. The musical by Tony Winner Duncan Sheik begins previews tonight before officially opening on April 21.
American Psycho the Musical features music by Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening) and the cast includes Jennifer Damiano (Spring Awakening, Next to Normal, Spider-Man: Turn of the Darkness). Recently, Damiano spoke to Broadway World about working on another Duncan Sheik project:
“Well I think, for one thing, Duncan’s music... he has a really special way of making stories that you think wouldn't work as musicals work. His music just kind of makes sense with the story. I think he's really good at doing that, obviously with Spring Awakening, and this piece as well. But, yeah, it's kind of amazing what they've done. It just, for some crazy reason, makes sense this way. It's very watchable for anybody that might think it isn't.”
American Psycho is presented on Broadway by Act 4 Entertainment David Johnson & Jesse Singer and Jeffrey Richards, in cooperation with Edward R. Pressman.
American Psycho the Musical opens for previews tonight at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre located at 236 West 45th Street, and will officially open on April 21.
