Updates on 'The Lost Boys' Musical Production

The upcoming stage musical, still in the middle of its development stage, was announced last December. It will feature a book written by "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" executive producer and writer David Hornsby alongside Chris Hoch, who acted in "Shrek the Musical."

As for the music, the production will feature compositions and lyrics by an American rock band "The Rescues." Also, the Tony-winning director of the "Parade" musical Michael Arden will helm the overall direction of the stage project.

Caissie will take on the role of "Lucy Emerson," a fresh divorcee and mother of two sons whose oblivious decision to move to a particular California beach town brings forth vampire-related trouble.

On the other hand, Nathan will be playing the younger of the two siblings named "Sam," originally played by Corey Haim in the movie version.

As for Courtney, she will be portraying the resident town beauty "Star," whose captivating charms catch the gaze of the older sibling "Michael." To date, no casting has yet been announced for the latter of the two sons, nor was any additional casting for the presentation.

In the original movie, "Lucy" was portrayed by Dianne Wiest, and "Star" was played by Jami Gertz.

The stage musical will be produced through a special arrangement between Warner Bros.Theatre Ventures,  James Carpinello, Marcus Chait, and Patrick Wilson, known for his famed stints in "The Conjuring" and "Insidious" movies.

Additionally, both Mark Kaufman and Lauren Shuler Donner will serve as Creative Consultants for the production. The production timeline is yet to be announced, as of now.
