James Spader’s 'Blacklist' Mid-Season Finale and Spring Return Date 2014

The conclusion to last week’s epic, two-part mid-season finale of James Spader’s The Blacklist airs tonight. Meanwhile, the return date for the spring 2014 season has officially been announced.

Tonight is the night! NBC’s The Blacklist airs its mid-season finale. Last week’s brand new episode raised the bar for the acclaimed series. Homeland star Diego Klattenhoff plays FBI Agent Donald Ressler on the hit show. When we last saw Ressler, he had a near-death run in with Ritchie Coster’s character, Anslo Garrick. Klattenhoff spoke with Entertainment Weekly about how long he might last against Garrick:

“It’s a big, bold turn of events. [Coster is] playing a really good villain, so it looks pretty dire at certain points. He’s somebody you wish would come back on the show...We’ll see if he sticks around.”

One of the show’s many mysteries revolves around Ryan Eggold’s character Tom. Recently, Eggold spoke with Huffington Post about what is in store:

“I just got the goods. When we shot that scene I truly didn’t know where they were going to go with Tom, but I just got a great scoop from the writers and they told me some ideas and they’re awesome. They’re very long term and they’re very ever-changing.”

Eggold also talked about working on his very first scene with James Spader:

“That was awesome. Working with him was fantastic. He’s supremely professional and amazingly gifted, obviously. He’s just a very supportive actor. He knows what he wants to happen and he likes to have a dialogue with you. He gives a lot and is very generous. Not a lot of number ones are like that. Then, I enjoyed seeing the scene because it was an interesting experience to play a number of possibilities in that scene.”

Be sure to check out mid-season finale tonight at 10 p.m. on NBC. The Blacklist returns on Monday, January. 13.
