Paul Weller Open to Work with Damon Albarn, Impressed by Opera 'Dr Dee'

British singer-songwriter Paul Weller has said that his favorite album of the year so far is opera "Dr Dee" by English musician and record producer Damon Albarn.

The singer - dubbed the Modfather - was impressed by the opera based on the life of John Dee, Queen Elizabeth I's scientific consultant, and described the album as "fantastic".

"I'm still going out and buying records, but nothing's blown me away - although I though Dr Dee was fantastic. I'd love to work with Damon," Weller told Britain's Daily Star.

"I'm up for working with anyone if they've got something creative going on," he added.

The 54-year-old singer, who played at London's iconic 100 Club on Wednesday, released his 11th studio album "Sonik Kicks" in March 2012.

Damon Albarn, 44, is back with his alternative rock band "Blur" and performed the group's first concert since 2009 in London on July 31.

Blur will headline a special performance in London's Hyde Park to celebrate the closing of the 2012 Olympics on August 12.
