Amanda Bynes Mental Health Illness Update: Hired Crisis Manager Before Scheduled Christmas Rehab Release?

There has been yet another update in the mental health status of Amanda Bynes. It looks like the actress’ illness is improving and she has been scheduled to be released from rehab before Christmas. Today, however, a major gossip site is claiming that Bynes’ family hired a crisis manager following her arrest and psychiatric hold.

According to a new report by Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Bynes employed crisis manager Hunter Frederick in order to extend Amanda’s psychiatric hold. A source who spoke with the site claims that Mr. Frederick was instrumental in getting an extension:

“He sent out a statement to media stating he was the contact for Amanda Bynes. Within 24-hours Frederick returned phone calls and emails with specific information regarding Amanda’s treatment including the type of medication she was on. These outlets would validate this information through other sources and then print it. The hope was this would influence the judge in the decision to extended Amanda’s stay. It worked”

Whether or not Mr. Frederick was ever hired by Amanda’s family has yet to be proven. But judging from a number of tabloid articles, whatever the Bynes family did is working.

According to Star, it was art that had a major impact on Amanda’s mental well being. A source close to the matter claims that Amanda took up painting:

“Amanda paints nonstop. It’s helped get her focus and confidence back. She’s finding herself again in such a beautiful way. Her progress is just incredible!”

That’s not the only sign that Amanda may be recovering. A recent article in TMZ asserts that Amanda Bynes has been declared mentally fit enough to stand trial for her DUI charges:

“Amanda Bynes is mentally capable of understanding the nature of the criminal charges she faces, and as a result the road is now clear for her to stand trial for DUI. Amanda's case was in Mental Health Court this AM, and the judge read the court-ordered medical evaluation of the actress, and determined she is now competent to face the DUI charges.”
