Musical 'Diner' Will Not Play in San Francisco, Still on a Broadway Track

New musical "Diner", based on the 1982 film, may not be having its tryout in San Francisco this fall.

Producers of the musical by Sheryl Crow and Barry Levinson postponed their October performance at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco, but the show remains on its way toward a Broadway bow in spring 2013.

Directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall, the production features a book by Academy Award and Emmy Award winner Levinson, who directed and wrote the screenplay for the 1982 film, and music and lyrics by Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Crow.

The production will mark the Broadway debuts for both Levinson and Crow.

Designers and casting will be announced later.
