Wednesday’s Powerball Lottery Amounts Top $100 Million, Buy Tickets Now

This Wednesday's Powerball jackpot has topped well over $100 million. Check below for the new grand prize amounts before you buy your tickets.

The Powerball jackpot has jumped to impressive $122 million, with an estimated cash value of $67.9 mil. The new totals have almost caught up with last month's $133 million. The winner for November's drawing has yet to come forward.

The totals are rising fast thanks to California's inclusion in the games, as well a recent ticket price increase.

Meanwhile, the Mega Millions lottery has reached a jaw dropping $344 mil, with an expected cash value totaling in at $184 M. The MM drawings have drastically increased thanks to a series of brand new rule that took effect in Oct. There has not been a big MM winner since the change despite the increased odds of winning. However, the lottery has given away millions in smaller prizes. The Powerball drawing has also seen an increase in smaller claims, with the website telling the tale of one of the many winners:

“Jerry Wells of Lincoln recently won $1 million playing Nebraska Powerball. Wells purchased his winning Powerball ticket at Roc's Stop & Shop, 2100 South 56th Street in Lincoln. The two-play ticket contained one play with all five winning white ball numbers (4, 18, 23, 32, 45) for a corresponding prize of $1 million. While claiming his prize on November 26, Wells told Nebraska Lottery officials that he selects his Powerball numbers using a combination of birthdays, ages, and the jersey numbers of favorite athletes. He learned he had won after checking the Nebraska Lottery website, nelottery.com.

The site also urges gamers to play responsibly:

"Lottery games are just that--games. Lottery games are designed to be enjoyable entertainment for adults, and for the vast majority of lottery players, that's exactly what they are. Multi-State Lottery members sell lottery tickets for the benefits of their citizens, raising millions of dollars for worthy causes and projects.

"The Multi-State Lottery Association encourages all lottery players to be responsible in their amount of play. Never spend more than you can afford on any lottery product. Please remember, it's just a game."
