Paul Wesley Dating Rumors and ‘TVD’ Love Triangle: Will Stefan Hook Up with Nina Dobrev’s Katherine or Elena?

Warning: TVD Spoilers Follow! It looks like Paul Wesley might have his fangs full this season on the CW hit series, The Vampire Diaries. Wesley may very well find himself in the middle of a love triangle with Nina Dobrev and the equally hot...Nina Dobrev. Yes, you read that right. Fans are eagerly hoping that Wesley’s character, Stefan, and Nina Dobrev’s character, Katherine, will hook up. Meanwhile, Dobrev’s other character, Elena, recently broke up with Ian Somerhalder’s Damon, opening up the possibility that the two may be hooking up.

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder’s supercouple, Delena, just broke up and now might be the time for Paul Wesley’s Stefan to swoop in and sweep Elena off her feet:

TVD executive producer Caroline Dries recently spoke with TV Line about what effect of Damon and Elena’s break up will have on Stefan:

"Stefan is a person that she's going to lean on for advice and wisdom. She trusts him fully. But the Damon thing is still so tender. There's still so much that is unresolved about it….They just had a big blowout fight/break-up. But we have to see going forward, the next time they're in the same room together, how they deal with it."

However, there is also the possibility that Stefan will hook up with Elena’s doppelganger, Katherine (also played by Dobrev). Dries went on to say:

“Romantic make-out in the hospital bed. Maybe. The 100th episode is Katherine on her death bed. She doesn’t have a huge fanbase at the Salvatore house where she is, so Stefan is the person who’s there for her. But when you’re dying, romance isn’t exactly on the front burner.”

Don’t worry Nina fans, Dobrev still has two other characters to play. Dries recently tweeted that she offered Dobrev a fourth role on the series, joking:

“We asked @ninadobrev to be Enzo but she was all, ‘I don't want to do a British accent.”
