Skinny 'Drake and Josh' Star Joins ‘Big Bang Theory’ Cast, Miranda Cosgrove Gets New NBC Show
Drake and Josh star Josh Peck is looking better then ever and that's not all. The now-skinny, former child star will be joining the cast of the hit CBS series, The Big Bang Theory. Meanwhile, Peck's former Drake and Josh co-star and iCarly veteran, Miranda Cosgrove, is returning to TV in NBC’s upcoming new show, Girlfriend In a Coma.
Over the years, Drake and Josh's Josh Peck has transformed himself. The formerly chubby child star has slimmed down and has landed a role on one of the hottest TV sitcoms around. It was recently announced that Peck will be joining the cast of CBS’s Big Bang Theory. Peck will be playing rival to the show's main stars.
Big Bang Theory showrunner Steve Molaro recently spoke with TVLine about Peck’s role on the hit series:
"Josh will be playing the owner of the rival, and extremely successful, comic book store, an establishment that is incredible looking and filled with customers."
Meanwhile, Peck's on-screen little sister, Miranda Cosgrove, has been taking some time away from the spotlight to attend college. After Cosgrove’s hit series, iCarly, went off the air, the young actress decided to focus on her education. Cosgrove is currently attending classes at the University of Southern California, where she is majoring in film. Cosgrove recently opened up to Access Hollywood Live about her life after iCarly:
“I’m taking a bunch of film classes And [I’m] watching a lot of movies and [taking] screenwriting classes.”
Cosgrove will also be stepping back in the spotlight with a her new TV show, Girlfriend In a Coma, coming to NBC in 2014. In the series, Cosgrove plays the daughter of a woman who went into a 17-year-long coma after she lost her virginity.
