Thor star Chris Hemsworth is everywhere these days. From his work on Marvel’s Avengers series, to Snow White and Star Trek, there isn’t a corner of the fantasy world you can’t find him in. However, the Disney prince is thinking of some time off from the movies in order to live happily ever after. Hemsworth wants to slow down so that he can spend more time with his pregnant wife, Elsa Pataky, and their daughter, India Rose. This decision makes a lot of sense considering the fact that Hemsworth and his family were almost killed while filming his latest movie, In the Heart of the Sea.
Before Chris Hemsworth got the lead in Thor, he had to fight for the part. The actor even had to fight his brother for the role. Now that Hemsworth is a household name, the actor doesn’t have to worry about fighting for parts anymore, meaning, he can actually start turning some down, and that is just what he is planning to do.
Hemsworth recently spoke with Bang Showbiz about not working so hard in the future:
''I've been working solidly for a couple of years now, to the point where I have to slow down and spend some time with my family.''
Hemsworth went on to add that turning down roles is a strange new concept to him, one that he is just going to have to get used to:
''You spend so long having your hand up, saying 'C'mon, c'mon--pick me!' there is a fear of saying no to things. It's bred into you. I get s**t sent to me and I think, ' I should probably just take this.' But now I try to say, 'Hold on--do you even like it? ' I do have a little control now. That's the transition--I'm not at the mercy of someone else so much. That's just as scary as it is liberating.''
